EV fleet TCO coverage moved into the core site structure

The earlier EV fleet TCO article now fits into two permanent editorial categories: Fuel, EV & Energy for software and operating workflow coverage, and AI & Analytics for cost-per-mile and economic analysis.

Model EV TCO with route, charging, facility, and residual assumptions

Vehicle acquisition price and average energy cost are insufficient. A fleet EV model must include incentives and tax treatment, charging equipment and construction, utility service upgrades, demand charges, managed charging, route suitability, spare ratio, maintenance, downtime, and residual risk.

System mechanics

Build vehicle and infrastructure cash flows separately, then allocate shared charger and site costs under stated utilization assumptions. Model usable battery energy, seasonal consumption, charging loss, dwell, replacement vehicles, and the cost of failed service.

Control points

Use base, adverse, and scale cases; identify incentives not yet secured; separate capital from operating cost; and test utility tariff sensitivity. Do not count avoided maintenance or fuel without a comparable ICE baseline and duty cycle.

Acceptance test

Replay representative routes and charging windows, then recalculate NPV/TCO after lower charger utilization, higher demand cost, cold-weather energy use, one failed charger, and lower residual value.
